The University of Akron is seeking applications for a full-time non-tenure track graphic design instructor. MA required, MFA preferred. Evidence of at least 3 years professional experience with an emphasis in design and typography is required. Position requires teaching design theory and typography at all levels in a professional design curriculum. Prior college/university teaching experience beyond TA is preferred. Successful candidates must possess strong design ability and strong communication skills and a documented history of teaching excellence. In addition to teaching, candidates will be expected to contribute to the further development and continues success of the design program. The graphic design program has 6 full-time faculty and 200 student majors.

ABOUT THE MARY SCHILLER MYERS SCHOOL OF ART
The Mary Schiller Myers School of Art at The University of Akron provides high quality education in the fine arts, art history, design, and art education. We provide excellence in teaching, research, and community service, contributing to the visual culture of the region and beyond. The graphic design program has approximately 200 student majors with 6 full time faculties. The Myers School of Art is NASAD accredited and consists of 19 full time faculty offering degrees in 10 majors and 13 minors.
