    The Office of Strategic Communication at The University of Iowa, seeks a Social Media Director to lead social media strategy and campaigns to support the university’s marketing initiatives and contribute to reputation management and enhancement. The director will create social media plans and be charged with identifying, developing, and implementing social media strategy/content about the university’s people, programs, and activities in support of those plans. In addition, the director will be responsible for auditing online profiles, updating social media sites, managing UI’s online presence, and providing guidance to other departments on campus.

    Responsibilities include strategy development and management, proactive communication and collaboration with campus partners, managing the university’s central social media channels, planning, creating, procuring and coordinating content, tracking web analytics and metrics, and designing and managing promotions and social media campaigns.

    Successful candidates will demonstrate experience producing content in a variety of formats; managing social media channels; implementing and analyzing social media campaigns; project management or team leadership skills; ability to think and plan across communication platforms; ability to juggle competing projects and write effectively under a deadline, and exceptional organizational and collaboration skills.

    Salary is $63,000 to commensurate. Application deadline is February 26, 2016, and screening will begin immediately. Projected start date is May 2, 2016.
