Assistant Graphic Designer
In support of the mission and vision of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, assist the Senior Media/Communications Specialist and the Media Communications Coordinator to initiate design projects, maintain cyclical design projects utilizing templates, and create supplemental design pieces for existing campaigns for a broad range of audiences, including Krannert Center patrons, prospective and enrolled students, corporate and patron sponsors, resident academic units, the College of Fine and Applied Arts, and the University at large.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Lay out and design communications materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, mailers, and advertisements Ensure compliance with campus and Krannert Center identity and branding standards and policies.
*Maintain templates provided by Senior Media/Communications Specialist or Media/Communications Coordinator for ongoing projects such as Krannert Center's monthly self-mailer and a series of regular advertising campaigns for submission in traditional print media, the web, and digital signage.
*Fulfill ongoing building signage requests. Prepare, manipulate, and color correct photos.
*Manage multiple projects at once, staying organized and accountable to project deadlines and schedules.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred: Graphic design or a communications-related discipline preferred.
Required: Demonstrated expertise in graphic design principles and basic production methods, including the following: Layouts, design fundamentals, typography, photography, and print production. Good eye for detail. Self-motivated and well organized. Interest in learning on the job. Independent judgment and ability to help resolve problems as they arise. Experience dealing with time pressures and changing or conflicting priorities. Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop on a Mac platform.
Preferred: Two years of professional experience in graphic design and marketing/communications.
This is a 12-month, 100% time academic professional appointment with full university benefits. The proposed starting date is negotiable after the close date. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
