UCDA Workshop: Fused Glass

Nov. 7, 2019

AMP Glasswerks

Nashville, TN 37205

During this two-hour workshop (morning or afternoon options available), participants will have the opportunity to design a unique 6-inch plate while learning the process of cutting and stacking glass, and the fusing process. No experience is needed. Space is limited to only five participants for each of the morning or afternoon workshops.

Glass fusing is puzzle making with glass elements and sheet glass. Create a beautiful, fused glass plate for your office, home, or as a gift.

Please note that you will have to leave your piece and we will fire it in the kiln for you. Arrangements may be made to pick up your finished piece, or we can mail it to you.

Closed-toed shoes must be worn, along with comfortable clothing. Participants will be standing for the majority of the workshop while working on their projects.

Finished piece is dishwasher safe and food friendly. Ideas can be seen at the AMP Glasswerks website at www.ampglasswerks.com.

Two workshops are available: morning (9-11 a.m.) or afternoon (Closed, afternoon session full) (1-3 p.m.).

WORKSHOP INCLUDES

  • All the glass materials (lots of different shape and colors are available to choose from, although glass does not come in every color)
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Tools you will need to create your masterpiece
  • Shipping of finished plate to you

ADRIENNE PARKER, AMP GLASSWERKS

AMP Glasswerks is a small home-based glass studio in Nashville, Tennessee where owner and artist Adrienne Parker creates fused glass gifts and commissioned designs for institutions and individuals. She also conducts classes and workshops and enjoys showing off her love for fused glass.

After 24 years as a graphic designer with a passionate belief in the value of print, Adrienne feels creating useful pieces in fused glass is a perfect artistic segue. She enjoys both the labor intensive process of cutting, stacking, and fusing glass as well as the opportunity to be creative and spontaneous in making unique glass pieces. Adrienne is convinced of the functional beauty of glass and finds it a seamless extension of her former graphic design profession.
