Dots, Screen Printing + Collecting Paper Ephemera: A Journey Through My Creative Process

Graphic designer and artist Tamar Cohen will discuss how her life-long passions for travel, collecting, pop culture, and polka dots have inspired her artistic practice. She will present her artwork, collections, photography, and anything else that makes her happy.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Tamar Cohen
Tamar Cohen is a New York-born and-based graphic designer and artist. She went to Oberlin College and learned design basics and mechanicals from her mother Elaine Lustig Cohen. She began her career at Vignelli Associates and later at Doublespace before opening her own firm Slatoff + Cohen and later Tamarco. She left graphic design in 2017, to focus on making art. Her silkscreen collages reside at the intersection of high and low culture. She is inspired equally by the sublime and the banal; by Kurt Schwitters and Fred Flintstone; by polka dots and all shades of the color green.
