    The University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications and nominations for the position of Creative Director in the Division of Marketing and Communications. The position is responsible for translating marketing strategy and brand positioning into an effective visual experience and creates, directs, and influences the overall design, brand, and execution from strategy to concept to completion of a variety of highly visible and strategic communications initiatives. The Director will execute a clearly defined strategy to produce creative work that communicates the key story and value proposition of the University in refreshing and compelling ways. The Director reports to Executive Director of Strategic Marketing and will lead a creative team that includes designers, photographers, videographers and multi-media designers.

    This position will play a lead role in interpreting, implementing and executing against an overarching brand platform working closely with the University's agencies of record and an internal team of creative professionals. The Director will adopt and implement this work to generate compelling design on multiple intersecting platforms including print, Web/online, video/multimedia, photography, and environmental and develops innovative, creative, comprehensive, and integrated visual experiences for multi-tiered branding and marketing campaigns.

    This position supervises a creative team that includes designers, photographers, videographers and multi-media designers. The Director will develop every aspect of the University's creative campaigns based on the marketing plan and media communications visual components needs and will conceptualize the ideas, assign needed resources and ensure deadlines are met.     Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's Degree in design, graphic design, marketing, communications, new media or a related field. Requires minimum of eight years of creative development experience in higher education, corporate, or agency experience. Knowledge,

    Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform work
    Proven understanding of brand architecture, brand identity and brand positioning as it informs creative work, preferably within a complex national organization;
    -Marketing experience within multiple channels such as digital marketing, social media, event planning, print, direct mail, television and radio;
    -Ability to judge creative concepts and copy and clearly communicate creative direction to others;
    -Demonstrated talent for high caliber creative conception and writing;
    -Deep knowledge, demonstrated ability and discipline in design fundamentals, with focused experience in print and at least one other modality;
    -Expertise in brand development, multichannel marketing, design, copy and web best practices;
    -Awareness of psychological theories relevant to communication and consumer behavior;
    -Track record of success working with both internal and agency teams;
    -Experience leading and mentoring creative teams including writers, photographers, videographers and designers in conceptualizing and executing across multiple channels and media.
    --Advanced knowledge of industry standard software, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
