John Bonadies is a graphic designer and entrepreneur based in Champaign, Illinois. He is the creator of LetterMpress, a virtual letterpress for iPad and Mac which produces multi-colored letterpress prints from vintage wood type and art cuts. His company, mpressInteractive, LLC, also develops mobile and desktop apps for the creative and publishing markets. Bonadies established the Living Letter Press, which houses all of the type and art contained in the LetterMpress app. The studio offers workshops and press rental to designers and artists, and produces their own line of greeting cards and posters.
In addition to being co-founder and president of pressInteractive, LLC., John is also the principal and creative director of Bonadies Creative Inc. He has over 20 years of design and creative management experience in both agency and corporate environments. John began his career working in the corporate design group at Burson- Marstellar in New York. He worked on accounts for Citicorp, Merrill Lynch, Johnson & Johnson, AT&T, Pfizer, General Electric, Digital Electronic Company, and MetLife.
John spent 11 years managing creative groups in the software industry, developing both corporate and product identities. He holds a BA in graphic design from Indiana University-Bloomington, and an MFA in graphic design from the University of Illinois.
